Noun. An enviable position, having the upper hand or greater advantage. “Those bloody winemakers at RedHeads, always in the Catbird Seat, getting all the best grapes!”
A stand-out single vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra. In true RedHeads style, we have rescued a parcel of grapes from being blended away to make a premium cabernet. Sick of being tied to big brands, the grower was exceptionally keen to sell us these grapes as they knew that we would give the grapes the attention they deserve which is why we’re always in the Catbird Seat!
Catbird has an iconic dark cherry and spice-filled taste that anyone can enjoy. Notes of blackcurrant jam, juicy raspberry and fresh mint make for a fruity concoction while the hints of spice and liquorice give it a deep and sultry aroma. A medium to full-bodied red with a deep purple crimson colour, this bottle of wine would stand out on any dinner table and would be perfect as a gift.
